On Saturday, Dec. 28, Lowell sent five varsity and five JV wrestlers to the Pittsburg Invitational.
Twenty-nine North Coast, Central, and Sac-Joaquin sections competed. Four of our five participating varsity wrestlers medaled. Senior Pryor Vo won first place at 132 lbs in thoroughly dominant performance in the championship match.

Our varsity medalists were:
Pryor Vo (senior) – 1st place at 132 lbs
Aldren Pasol (junior) – 2nd place at 106 lbs
Sasha Gonzales (junior) – 3rd place at 113 lbs
Rostyslav Tolochko (senior) – 4th place at 285 lbs

Of particular note is that despite sending only five scoring varsity wrestlers (out of 14 weight classes), Lowell still finished in 5th place out of 32 in the team standings.

On the JV front, sophomore Herman Zeng finished in 2nd place at 126 lbs. We expect big things from Herman and our other JV wrestlers in the future.
