In a battle with a numerically improved SFI (even split on forfeits), Lowell won five of eight matches wrestled. Chris O’Neill (soph) started the action in aggressive beast mode and won by injury default. Marco Kwan (soph) then came on with a dominating 14-2 major decision. Leading 18-6 in the 3rd period, Aldren Pasol (senior) pinned his opponent. Asa Jungreis (junior) continued the onslaught with a 58 second pin. In the heavier weights, Cris Sanchez (senior) came out the victor with a 3-1 decision.
Next up for Lowell is our final dual meet of the season against Washington at Lowell on Monday, Feb. 16. It should be a good match up, as both teams are roughly on numerical par with their varsity line-ups, and Washington always has some tough wrestlers.
