Lowell Wrestlers Edge Washington 33-28

In our final regular season competition, Lowell won a close dual against Washington 33-28 behind key wins by Chris O’Neill (soph) at 108lbs and Asa Jungreis (senior) at 134lbs.

Both squads are similarly sized with holes in our line-ups. We know Washington is coached well and always has some tough wrestlers, so the outcome hinged on the three most competitive pairings. We won two of those with clutch wins by Chris O’Neill (soph) at 108lbs and Asa Jungreis (senior) at 134lbs.

We finish the regular season 7-1 outscoring our opponents 341-196.

Next up for Lowell Wrestling is the SF Section Championships (aka All City) this coming Saturday at Lincoln. The section champion at each weight class earns the right to represent their school and SF at the hardest state wrestling champions in the country: CIF State in Bakersfield, Calif.
