On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, Germany signed the Armistice ending major hostilities in the “War to end all wars” (WW I). [the war wasn’t officially over until six months later when Germany signed the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919]. Although originally called Armistice Day and created for WW I vets, it became Veterans Day in 1954 and honors all U.S. veterans who have served their country.
Rightfully so, there is no school on this day. We will, however, be having wrestling practice from 9am – 12 pm.
